If your depression is really severe, it might be best to avoid caffeine at that point. There are studies that show caffeine can make depression worse. If you are a big coffee or soda drinker, you may want to consider switching over to decaffeinated versions of your favorite beverages.

Different types of depression are treated differently, but the emphasis here is on the word “treated.” Every type of depression needs to be properly treated, and unless you’re willing to treat your disorder, you are never going to get rid of it.
